I don't remember any filter in the system so a little grinding waste in the coolant water must be OK. It did stink after a year which is why students were hired. A fine mesh screen as a filter should work and you may need to back flush it often. A plan for annual cleaning of the holding tank would be prudent.

Can someone help me identify the collets for a Myford MG12-cylindrical grinder? I contacted Myford, but they don't have them, didn't answer th question what type of collet it is and pointed me to Crawford Collets. Bu Crawford doesn't have them. :-(The collet looks like an R8, but with different sizes: (I only have a centre, no collet at all)

Looking for Myford MG12 specific information
Looking at the pictures you have an early MG12 from the 1960's this is a purely manual machine with a 10" dia wheel capacity. All M model machines start from 1980 onwards. The M stands for Metric build as all these machines have a metric feed screw, with dials in Imperial or Metric to suit the customer.
